Having been around horses and worked with them for years, John and Ashley Hovenden have lived and learned the special relationship and bond that exist between God, man, and horse. Ashley is a self-proclaimed rescue in more ways than one. Through the healing process with her first rescued horse, God revealed His plan and purpose for the both of them. She has a personal testimony like no other about how God's True Light pierced the darkness in her own life and His healing power through a rescued horse. John and Ashley started Hope Reigns to bring the same relationship and healing to others.
Ashley serves as Executive Director and is a Team Hope Mentor here at the ranch. She is an also an Equine Specialist. She has training in SafeTalk (a suicide alertness program) and in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST).
Both John '89 and Ashley '96 are graduates from Texas A&M University.
John and Ashley's personal mission has always been to use the horse to help people know our loving God and His son Jesus Christ.
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." ~Romans 15:13 (NIV)
Hope Reigns, Inc., is an exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit Texas corporation dba Hope Reigns Ranch. Located in the heart of Magnolia, Texas.
Hope Reigns' mission is to Rescue the Equine, Restore Lives, Offer Hope, and Serve the Community while demonstrating God's Love.
Our vision is to provide a safe, relaxing, and supportive environment where both horses and people can come find hope, healing, and restoration.
Hope Reigns is a faith-based ministry. Though not associated with any particular denomination, the basis of belief rises from the same Judeo-Christian values that our nation was built upon. The Founders and Board of Directors believe in THE Sovereign God and in salvation by grace, a free gift from God, given to all who believe in His Son Jesus Christ, and accept Him as the Lord of their life. It is our greatest desire to serve God by demonstrating our faith, serving others, and giving the same loving grace that has been freely given to us.
